Frequently Asked Questions

What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a natural health-care method that doesn’t utilize drugs or surgical procedures, understanding these options are necessary at times but carry limitations and risks. The term “chiropractic” is derived from the Greek words meaning, “done by hand”. It is a non-invasive, conservative approach to health restoration, maintenance and disease resistance.

What is an adjustment?

An adjustment is the specific manipulation of vertebrae that display abnormal movement patterns or fail to function properly. Such abnormal spinal function may negatively impact nerve activity causing pain, tingling or other health problems. Adjustments return vertebrae to their proper positioning in order to alleviate nerve dysfunction.

What is chiropractic maintenance?

Think of chiropractic maintenance as preventative care for your body. In many cases, you might not even realize your spine is misaligned, because you may not be experiencing pain. But misalignments can lead to a gradual deterioration of your health and well-being. This is where we can help. By correcting spinal misalignments and removing the interference in your nervous system, Dr. Ramsey can help your body function more efficiently on all levels.

While pain often motivates people to seek the help of a chiropractor, you don’t have to be in pain or discomfort to benefit from chiropractic adjustments. In fact, ongoing chiropractic care (chiropractic maintenance) may promote your body’s ability to heal itself and may lead to decreased incidences of certain ailments and injuries, while helping you reach and maintain your optimal health goals.

Do you accept insurance?

We gladly accept most health insurance plans. Our staff is happy to check on patients’ benefits. For those without insurance who may be worried about the high costs charged by other clinics, we work hard to maintain affordable rates.

Can you take my pain away?

Your pain is most likely the result of an existing problem. Depending on your history, care may take some time. That being said, Dr. Ramsey has seen many patients overcome headaches, neck pain, back pain, auto injuries and work-related injuries through chiropractic care.
